Making homemade balsamic glaze is so easy you’ll want to make it often! It’s so versatile, it can be drizzled on a variety of dishes. From savory dishes such as grilled meats, poultry and fish to sweet dishes such as desserts, fruit salad and ice cream.

Tools You Will Need to Make this Recipe:

-Measuring cup,

-A saucepan or skillet (9.5″ wide used in this recipe), and

-A spatula.

  • Total Time: 24 minutes
  • Yield: 4 1x

Ingredients

Scale

1/2 cup Balsamic Vinegar of Modena

Instructions

  1. First measure out the balsamic vinegar amount using a measuring cup. Then pour into your skillet or saucepan and using medium heat bring to a gentle simmer.
  2. Once the vinegar starts to simmer, reduce the heat to minimum and let the vinegar reduce to about half the amount. In this recipe it took 9 minutes to reduce the liquid to half the amount. Note that this time can vary depending on the type of heating element and/or saucepan/skillet you are using.
  3. Once the liquid has reduced, remove from the heat and let it cool down. You may want to transfer to a small glass container to let it cool down. You will notice that once the vinegar cools down it thickens even more!
