Caprese bites is a very fast and easy recipe to make! It is based on the insalata Caprese recipe but a mini version. Because of its smaller size it is an easy appetizer to eat.

You will need the following tools to make this recipe:

-Small bowl,

-Measuring spoons (1/2 Teaspoon, Teaspoon, 1/8 Teaspoon)

-Small spoon,

-6 Toothpicks, and

-a serving plate.

Ingredients

  • 6 Mini Bocconcini Balls
  • 6 Grape Tomatoes
  • 6 Medium Fresh Basil Leaves
  • 1/2 tablespoon Extra Virgin Olive Oil
  • 1/8 teaspoon Sea Salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon Finely Ground Black Pepper
  • 1/8 teaspoon Dried Oregano
  • 1 tablespoon Balsamic Glaze

Instructions

  1. First drain out 6 mini bocconcini and place in the small bowl.
  2. Next wash 6 grape tomatoes and add to the same bowl.
  3. Then add the Extra Virgin Olive Oil to the bowl.
  4. Now sprinkle the sea salt, black pepper and dried oregano.
  5. Using a spoon, mix together the ingredients.
  6. Now for the assembly….Take one of the mini bocconcini balls and insert the toothpick until the cheese is at the bottom.
  7. Next take one of the fresh basil leaves, fold it in half and insert the toothpick through the middle of the folded basil leaf.
  8. Now take one of the grape tomatoes and insert on the toothpick until it reaches the basil leaf.
  9. Lastly, for the finishing touch, drizzle with some balsamic glaze.
