So what is involved in preparing pumpkin seeds for roasting? Well Once you have cut into the pumpkin, you will want to scoop out all of the insides (or the pulp) using a spoon.

Then the next step is cleaning the pumpkin seeds by separating the pulp from the seeds.

Finally place the seeds on a parchment lined baking sheet and sprinkle them with salt.

How Long and What Temp To Bake Pumpkin Seeds

Place in a 250 degree preheated oven. You want to roast the seeds until they are golden in color. In this recipe it took about 50 minutes. Because they can easily burn, it is best to roast at a low temperature of 250 degrees.

Ingredients

  • 2/3 cups Raw Pumpkin Seeds
  • 1/2 teaspoon Fine Sea Salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 250 degrees.
  2. Cut off pumpkin top and scoop out inside of the pumpkin.

 

  1. Separate the pulp from the seeds.

 

  1. Line an 13 inch x 17 inch baking tray with parchment paper and place the seeds on the tray. Sprinkle with the salt and place on the middle rack of the preheated oven.

 

  1. Check on the seeds at about 40 minutes. They may need another 5 to 10 minutes. They are ready when they are a nice golden colour and crunchy. Let cool and serve and enjoy!
